Inc. magazine has recognized Erie-based Logistics Plus as one of 12 companies that created a great work environment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The list of 12 companies includes a short profile on the logistics and transportation company.
“It’s hard to maintain a fun culture, and as you get bigger, I think it gets tougher,” said Jim Belin, founder and CEO of Logistics Plus. “But we focus on it, and when the employees say ‘we love working here,’ what better reward can there be than that.”
McDowell Manufacturing held an open house on Tuesday to showcase its technology lab and the work of students at McDowell Senior High School.
Dennis M. Davin, secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, was scheduled to be a guest for the open house.
McDowell Manufacturing launched this school year in partnership with Millcreek• Township School District and the Northwest Industrial Resource Center.
American and Canadian ports on the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Seaway System handled over four million tons of cargo from the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway on March 22 through the end of April.
That’s a 3.7% increase compared to the same date in 2020, according to the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corp.
