The Hamburg-based Breeze Technologies has launched a new coronavirus prevention app which alerts users when to air rooms. Proper and regular ventilation can lower the risk of COVID-19 infections significantly, according to the German Environmental Agency (UBA) and the Robert Koch Institute. The app notices when the air indoors has become stale and exceeds the recommended concentration of CO2 – 1,000 ppm (parts-per-million) maximum. Breeze specialises in IoT air quality sensors and cloud software for visualising and analysing real-time data.
Corona prevention mode indicates necessary ventilation
Its clean technology measures the air quality in real time with specially developed sensors, according to Breeze. The team relies on artificial intelligence to automatically detect and filter out incorrect measurements. The new dashboard, which is available as an app for displays, tablets and other end devices, shows whether the UBA recommendations for sufficient fresh air supply are being adhered to and warns users. “We want to help tackle the current corona crisis with our new solution. Even before corona, we met with many questions about air quality from facility and space managers. During the design phase, our top priority was to make the ‘Corona Prevention Mode’ understandable and comprehensible for our users. The managers of a facility and users of a space can easily keep an eye on sufficient fresh air and act if necessary,” said Robert Heinecke, CEO of Breeze.
Digital Hub Logistics Hamburg among users
Johannes Berg, Managing Director of the Digital Hub Logistics Hamburg, is among the first users of the app. Commenting on the new function, Berg said: “Our top priority is to protect the users of our premises and especially our co-working space. Breeze’s solution fits perfectly into our prevention concept and is a great motivation for everyone involved to ensure sufficient fresh air.” In April 2020, Breeze launched one of the densest air measurement networks in Hamburg. The collected air data can be viewed on a digital map.
