Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on Monday after meeting the head of the International Monetary Fund that he hoped to clinch a multi-year support programme of at least $15 billion for the country.

“We are looking for the launch of a new multi-year support programme valued at more than $15 billion,” Shmyhal wrote on the Telegram messaging app after talks in Kyiv with IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva.

A video posted on President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s Telegram account showed Georgieva meeting him and senior Ukrainian officials.
